About Us

Babsi and The Sunflower is the oldest flower shop in George, opening its doors over thirty years ago. Louisa Lotter was the original Babsi and each lovely lady who has owned the shop since has taken over the role as Babsi. 

Alexis (left) took over ownership in May 2022 after more than a decade in the conservation field. With a passion for flowers and the Garden Route, she decided to settle in George and become a floral business woman.

Melanie (right) has been with Babsi and The Sunflower for almost two decades. She started out as the cleaner and has worked her way up to head florist. Her passion and incredible talent for flower arranging shines through in every arrangement. Anyone who has been to our shop knows Melanie, her warm smile and her talents. She is The Sunflower.

In July 2022, we relocated to a warm and beautiful shop in Loerie Centre, Meade Street, George.
